NARS Marie-Galante Eyeshadow Duo Review and Swatches

I love iridescent colors! I love beautiful pinks, purples and blues, so I was very excited when I had the opportunity to try out the NARS Marie-Galante eyeshadow duo. Marie-Galante is officially described as an iridescent orchid and regal blue.
Where to Buy:
Sephora or NARS and Amazon for $34
The Website Claims:
Modern, unique, sometimes unexpected color combinations of eyeshadow shades. Worn alone or together, all Duo Eyeshadow shades feature micro-fine powders that are highly pigminted, longwearing and crease resistant. Color glides on smoothly, evenly and blends effortlessly. The effects can be subtle or smoldering — the options are endless. The NARS Marie-Galante eyeshadow duo has a rich, bright color for a summer smoky eye.
The top section of each swatch is on bare skin. The bottom section of each swatch is on Meow Light Primer. I did my best to capture the gorgeous iridescence of these two shades.
The top section of these swatches are on the Meow Light Primer. The bottom dot of color is one swipe on bare skin.
Price:
$34.00 for .15 oz and can be purchased from Sephora or NARS and Amazon
Marie-Galante is named for the Caribbean Island in the Guadeloupean Archipelago. The NARS artists recommend it for an unexpected smoky eye. As others have mentioned, the finish is very similar to the Urban Decay Stardust shadows, which I like a lot!
The orchid is very sheer. It reminds me a bit of UD Asphyxia. It’s got some gorgeous blues sparkles to it. The blue side seems to be on a sheer black base and it has blue sparkles and from certain angles a blue-violet sheen.
Both of the colors in this duo are sheer. Compared to my other NARS eyeshadow duos, the pigmentation is lacking. However, you can compensate for that by using a colored base, such as Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Black Bean or another colored base. I do think that on a black colored base, this would make for a fun smoky eye.
NARS Marie-Galante is $34 for .14 oz and is available for purchase from Sephora, NARS or Amazon.com.
