Hello beautiful makeup geeks!  I discovered an amazing drugstore concealer that works great in not only hiding redness on my skin, but highlighting my under eye bags!  I wanted to share my thoughts on the Maybelline Fit Concealer :)
Pros
  • Amazing price –  $6
  • Great coverage especially for being a liquid concealer
  • Blends easily into the skin
  • Comes in 6 shades
Cons
  • It has a slight smell
  • Could have a wider range of colors (especially for darker skin)
On days when I don’t wear a full face of foundation, this concealer hides the redness around my nose and even hides my under eye circles.  The formula is super creamy, blends well into the skin, and doesn’t cake up at all- even without powder.
It comes in 6 different colors- the only con is the darkest shade isn’t all that dark.  I love how it only costs $6!  I’ve been using mine everyday for almost 2 months and still have tons left.   There is a slight smell (sort of like chemical), but I only notice it when I stick my nose up in the bottle.

Rating
  • Product:   5
  • Packaging:  5
  • Quality:  5
  • Price:  5
  • Would I Buy Again:  Yes!
Where to Buy:    Amazon  .  Most Drugstores

This is the most excited I’ve been about a concealer in a long time!  Big thumbs up to Maybelline for creating a fantastic concealer especially for an affordable price.   I have no complaints about this at all- I’m actually headed to Target tonight to get a couple extra colors :)
Have a great weekend!

Your lips are the most sensitive part of your body and you need to keep them moisturized. The lips do not have any oil glands like the rest of the skin, so they are more prone to drying and cracking. Many women love to apply lipstick , and some even consider their beauty regimen incomplete if they do not apply their
favorite lip color. Lipsticks are available in a variety of textures and forms. There are long-wearing types available in the market that stay on for up to 8 hours without smudging. Unfortunately these are more difficult to take off than the conventional variety, and many women do not bother to take them off before going to sleep. This is where a makeup remover for your lips comes to the rescue and helps to effectively get rid of all traces of lip color.

Tips for Choosing the Right Remover

There are many different types of makeup removers available in the market from all the leading brands. Considering that the lips are very sensitive, waterproof removers specifically for lips are also available.

  • Although you can purchase a good remover from a department store, there are products in your kitchen that work just as well. Natural rose water is very effective. Just dip a cotton ball in rose water and rub it on your lips in a back and forth motion. Ensure that you rub gently. You will see that the lipstick has come off on the cotton ball. You can keep the rose water in the refrigerator for a refreshing effect.
  • The best natural remover is pure coconut oil or olive oil. Soak a cotton ball in coconut or olive oil and rub it on your lips until all the makeup has come off. Using oil is a good option for people who are allergic to certain ingredients in conventional removers. Moreover, coconut oil as well as olive oil will keep your lips moisturized and will help soften them.
  • You can also apply a small amount of petroleum jelly on your lips and leave it on for a few minutes. Take a soft tissue and wipe it off. You will find that the lipstick comes off easily.
  • In winter, when your lips are chapped and the lipstick has bled into fine lines, it is very difficult and painful to take the lipstick off. Dab a little cold cream on your lips and wipe it off with a moistened cotton ball.
  • If you use waterproof lipstick or long-wearing lipstick, you might have a hard time taking it off at the end of the day. Do not try to rub it off, as this could be harmful. The best natural remover for this kind of lipstick is milk. Dip a cotton ball in cold milk and rub it on your lips in a circular motion. The milk will not only cleanse your lips but also keep them soft and conditioned.

A cosmetic product, liquid lip glosses, are a must in every woman's handbag. A lip gloss is unlike a lip balm as well as a lipstick . The gloss is used to create a fuller and a poutier look. It gives a lustrous shine, with very little effort. It is basically a soft liquid, with fine spread quality, that comes in frosty, metallic, and mostly,
clear, translucent sheers. For all those who are wondering how liquid lip gloss can be made at home, try out the following formulas given below.

Raspberry Gloss

Ingredients

  • Raspberry blitz flavor oil, 2 tsp
  • Sweet almond oil, 4 ounces
  • White beeswax granules, ½ ounce
  • Liquid sweetener, 1 tsp
  • Sparkle crimson mica, 1 tsp

Directions

On a low flame, melt the beeswax in a double boiler. Once the beeswax has melted completely, take it off the flame (ensure that there are no unmelted lumps or granules), add sweet almond oil, raspberry flavor oil, sweetener, and sparkle mica, and stir until all ingredients have blended well. Pour the liquid gloss consistency into a tall slender container. Your homemade lip gloss is ready for use!

Colored Gloss

Ingredients

  • Petroleum jelly, 1 tbsp
  • Colored lipstick, 1 inch scoop
  • Vanilla essence, 3 drops
  • Zip pouch, 1
  • Eye glitter, a pinch

Directions

In the zip pouch, put the colored lipstick piece, petroleum jelly, eye glitter, and vanilla essence. Remove all air from the bag, and zip to seal it. Using your fingers, gently mix, and blend the jelly and the color together, until well blended and uniformly colored. Make a small incision in the zip pouch, and squeeze out the gloss into a small container.

Apple-Flavored Gloss

Ingredients

  • Natural apple essence oil, 3 ml
  • Sweet almond oil, 3 ounces
  • Liquid vegetable glycerin, 1.5 ounces
  • Vitamin E oil, 10 drops
  • Directions

In a small glass bowl, mix apple essence oil with almond oil and vitamin E oil. Gently stir in liquid glycerin, and blend well. Pour the liquid gloss in a slender glass container and seal it.

Honey and Cranberry Smacker

Ingredients

  • Fresh cranberries, 10
  • Honey, 1 tsp
  • Sweet almond oil, 1 tbsp
  • Vitamin E oil, 1 drop

Directions

Mix all the above ingredients in microwave bowl, and heat until it starts to boil. Remove from the microwave, and using a spatula, gently crush the cranberries against the sides of the bowl. Let the cranberry mix cool down completely. The mix should be strained through a fine sieve so that all the fruit pieces are removed. Pour the strained liquid in a glass container.

Clear Liquid Gloss

Ingredients

  • Sweet almond Oil, 2 ounces
  • Clear cosmetic grade liquid oil based color, ½ ml
  • Liquid sweetener, 2 ml
  • Candelilla wax, 1/8 tsp

Directions

In a glass bowl, microwave the candelilla wax until liquid. Add all other ingredients, and blend well. Pour the liquid in a glass container.

If one is short of time, use pure petroleum jelly, with a lipstick shade mixed in it. Using just a few ingredients to make lip gloss, one can save time and money. It not only adds luster to your lips, it also protects them from drying. One can wear the cosmetic alone or as a top-on for lipstick, to get that extra shine. So, now that you know how to make liquid lip gloss, shine those lips ladies!

Lip gloss has become one of the most popular cosmetics in recent years. The reason due to which people are opting for lip gloss instead of lipstick is because the former gives the lip a shimmering and subtle look at the same time. It is also one of the best cosmetics for teenagers, as it gives a natural look to the lips.
However, most of the lip glosses that are available in the market are made of chemicals which may not suit everyone. Hence, it is best to buy a naturally made lip gloss from the local stores. Nevertheless, the problem here is that many experts are of the opinion that the lip gloss that are said to be made of natural ingredients are not actually so. In other words, though manufacturers claim that these lip glosses are made of natural ingredients, this claim is actually questionable. Hence, the best alternative would be to make lip gloss on your own.

Homemade Lip gloss Recipes

The biggest advantage of making lip gloss at home is that you can control the ingredients. The ingredients used in making lip gloss are something that are usually available in most homes. This way, you can also save a lot of money, as commercial lip gloss actually costs a lot of money. Nevertheless, there are many people who think that they can make just one type of lip gloss at home. But this is not true, as it is possible to make lip gloss of different flavors and fragrances at home too.

Recipe #01

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons beeswax
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 10-20 drops jojoba oil
  • 3 teaspoons cocoa butter
  • Drops of vitamin E oil or honey

Preparation

In a double broiler, take beeswax, coconut oil and cocoa butter together and melt on a very low heat. Once they are completely melted, take the broiler off the stove and allow it to cool for sometime. After this is done, add jojoba oil and stir till it completely blends in the melted mixture. Take a clean container and transfer the lip gloss into it. Keep the lid of the container a little loose, so that it is possible for the moisture to escape from it. When the lip gloss is fully cooled, seal it tightly and use it whenever you want to.

Recipe #02

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon almond oil
  • 10-12 fresh cranberries
  • 1 teaspoon honey

Preparation

Take cranberries, almond oil and honey in a microwave friendly dish, and heat it for a few minutes in the microwave. After this, take the bowl out from the microwave and crush the cranberries while stirring them. Once this is done, strain the mixture through the sieve, so that you can dispose off the cranberry pieces. Transfer the mixture into an air tight container and use it whenever you want to.

Recipe #03

Ingredients

  • 3 teaspoons coconut oil
  • 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 teaspoons beeswax, grated
  • 1/8 teaspoon vitamin E oil

Preparation

In a microwave friendly dish, take coconut oil, vitamin E oil and beeswax together. Place the dish in the microwave and heat for sometime, till the wax and the oils are completely melted. Add the vanilla extract into the container and stir to blend it with the melted ingredients. Take a clean container and pour the mixture into it. Let the mixture cool completely, before you use it.

Recipe #04

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons cocoa butter
  • 1 capsule vitamin E
  • 4-5 chocolate chips

Preparation

Take all the ingredients in a double broiler and heat till they are completely melted. After this is done, stir the mixture with a spoon till it becomes a smooth paste. Transfer the ingredients into a clean, air tight container. Place the container in the refrigerator to cool and use it when it solidifies completely.

These are some of the recipes that you can make at home. These recipes are quite easy and will not take much of your time. You can not only use the lip gloss yourself, but can also give them as gifts.

Lips are one of the most important facial features which enhance your look. Professional make-up artists will vouch for this. Although you can never go wrong with a matte finish, gloss is your best bet for a party. Also, otherwise drab nude shades look fab with a glossy touch, giving them a surprisingly seductive feel. But you
must know, if not done properly, glossy lips can go horribly wrong, making your lips look fuller than necessary. To get glossy, perfectly plump lips, remember to follow these tips to the T.

Instructions

Choosing the Lip Gloss

While a colored lip gloss does look amazing, buy a neutral one to give any colored lipstick a glossy finish. If you have fuller lips, choose a lip gloss/lipstick with a paler shade. If you have thin lips, you need to make them look fuller; in this case, buy a lipstick/lip gloss with a dark shade. The exact shade will also depend on your complexion and the color of your lips. While purchasing the gloss, ask someone at the store to help you out with the perfect shade.

Preparing the Lips

Since the lip gloss is translucent, cracks on your lips may be visible, giving them a crude look. Exfoliate your lips daily with a face cleanser or lip exfoliator. Apart from this, you must also keep your lips moisturized daily, with a lip balm or cream. Even after you remove the lip gloss, you must repeat this process to ensure that your lips stay healthy and soft.

Applying the Lip Gloss

Line your lips with a lip liner, which needs to be a shade darker than your gloss color. Just one shade lighter. The lip liner will give your lips a proper definition and make it easier for your to apply the gloss. It is also possible for you to make your lips appear bigger or smaller with the lip liner. For example, if you have small lips, make a line just outside each of your lip's normal outline. Similarly, if you have fuller lips, draw a line inside the natural outline.

After you are done with the lip liner, start applying the gloss. If the gloss has a neutral shade, it is fine to apply it directly from the tube. However, if it isn't, put a small amount of lip gloss on the center of your lower lip, press your lips together, and spread it evenly. If you still think you have lot of gloss on your lips, bloat some of it on a paper towel. If you're using the lipstick, after you're done with applying the lip liner, apply the lipstick with a lip brush, always. Then, apply the neutral gloss directly from the tube.

If you want the gloss to stay on for a longer time, bloat off the excess after the first application. Then, pat some face powder on your lips and apply the gloss again. The powder will ensure that the gloss stays for a longer time.

Just like other make-up techniques, you will get better with this one over time. Until then, have fun with different shades and types to try a new look every time, finding out with time what suits you the best!

Fleshy, plump lips are a new parameter of beauty. Those who have such kissable lips flaunt them, while those who don't, seek treatments to get the desired look. Collagen injections, botox are some of the beauty
treatments that give a fuller, plumper look to your lips. These treatments are not only expensive, but they may also cause you quite a lot of pain and discomfort. Plumping lip gloss on the other hand, can be a cost-effective, yet satisfactory option.

How Does a Plumping Lip Gloss Work

All the plumping lip glosses have the same working mechanism. They contain ingredients which mildly irritate your lips, so that they become swollen and red. Ingredients may vary greatly according to the lip gloss manufacturing company. However, essentially all of them have the same effect on your lips. Natural ingredients such as peppermint, menthol, camphor, cinnamon and macadamia oil cause the engorgement of the blood vessels in the lips, which give them a fuller, plumper look. Some other ingredients may contain microspheres which attract the water molecules to the surface of the lips, thereby giving them a swollen look.

Tri-peptide of amino acids, also known as palmetoiloligopeptide is yet another ingredient which gives the desired shape to the lips. This particular ingredient is believed to stimulate natural collagen and elastin production. However, one needs to apply it regularly before there are any visible results. A few other lip glosses contain ingredients which reflect light, thereby rendering a super shiny and plumper appearance to your lips. Besides, vital vitamins like vitamin B 12 and vitamin E nourish the lips and leave them healthy and moist. Plumping lip gloss also contains flavoring ingredient, as it is a must that the gloss tastes delicious if you intend to put it on your lips.

Plumping Lip Gloss Reviews

There are various quality products available in the market, which give a plumper look to your lips. We have listed a few cosmetic brands for your ready reference.

Lip Fusion

If you are looking for a premier product, then Lip Fusion could be your choice. It has a fantastic moisturizing effect and offers super shiny gloss. It contains micro-injected collagen which gives the lips a fuller look. It is available in 18 different shades. What can deter you from buying this product is its cost. At $38 it is quite expensive than the other ones available in the market.

Sephora

Sephora has its own brand of lip plumping glosses. Moisturizing lip gloss shades from Sephora are toned down and offer the most natural look. The 'barely there pink' and 'au natural clear' are some of the popular shades. It contains peppermint as a plumping ingredient and has a great taste. It comes with 8 different colors and is reasonably priced at $10.

Bee Stung by Pop Beauty

If you wish to flaunt bold and vibrant colors on your lips, then Bee Stung lip gloss by Pop Beauty is for you. It comes in five cool shades of pink and orange. The cinnamon essential oil brings the pumping effect of the lips. The only problem with Bee Stung is that it does not last long, hence reapplication is required. Nonetheless, at $12, it is a budget buy.

Physician's Formula

The price tag of this product is sufficient enough to escalate its sale. At $7 it is the cheapest product available in the market. It comes in four cool colors and has a cinnamon-ginger based formula for plumping effect. This lip gloss is thicker than the others, hence lasts longer.

Regular and long term use of plumping lip gloss is not recommended as the ingredients can cause ulceration of lips. Besides, the results are of temporary stature unlike Botox or collagen injections. Thus, it is ideal if you only wish to have fuller, kissable lips for that particular hot date.

The shimmering lips, the curves etched perfectly with a liner. The gloss infusing a radiance to the lips, a little plump but intensely soft. How seductive and tempting they look. True! Your lips are one of those most coveted features of your face that require care and nourishment. Not necessary that you always need to
wear a lipstick for defining them. Women who are always in a dilemma to put on lipsticks, can opt for a lip gloss instead. It's a quick alternative to lipsticks, yet producing the same effect. You can sport a lip gloss anytime of the day without being fastidious.

Applying lip gloss is indeed a work of art, because the suavity with which you glide on the brush is just like painting the facial features of a woman on a canvas. A lip gloss is often applied over the first coat of lipsticks to achieve a more shining effect. Applying a lip gloss is not something difficult to accomplish. Once you develop a taste for the colors and you get to know what suits you the best, you can then pick up one for regular use.

Applying Lip Gloss: Steps

  • You should first moisturize your lips with a lip balm or a petroleum jelly. This would keep your lips moisturized for a longer time.
  • Dab the applicator brush in the liquid and start applying on your upper lip first.
  • Extend the brush till the corners of the lip and fill up every part uniformly.
  • Dip the brush once again in the bottle to wet it with some more gloss.
  • Now come to your lower lips. Follow the same technique for your lower lip.
  • Check if you have added a full coverage to your lips.
  • If you are using a stick gloss, then you can simply glide it on your lips.
  • Now slowly press your lips against each other. This merges the gloss better.
  • Use a cotton swab or a clean napkin to wipe off gloss that has smudged out from the edges and corners of your lips.

This completes the makeup of your lips. Wasn't that easy? Within no time, you acquire a luscious and juicy pair of lips. We have provided you some additional information on choosing the right kind of lip gloss and some tips for accentuating your lips in a superior way. Take a look.

Additional Tips

  • A transparent lip gloss will always complement you, irrespective of whether you are wearing during the day or in the night.
  • Glossy shades of dark brown, red, crimson and bright pink are meant for wearing in the evening.
  • Lip glosses in shades of peach, light pink and light brown could be adorned anytime.
  • You can outline your lips with a liner (preferably a tone darker than your gloss) before applying the gloss. This makes the curves of your lips more prominent.
  • It's always advised to exfoliate your lips with a herbal scrub to remove the flakes from the surface. This makes your lips extra soft.
  • You can also prepare a lip gloss at home by combining equal amount of coconut oil, cocoa butter and a little beeswax. Apply this moisturizing gloss before stepping out.
  • Always buy a gloss containing vitamin E and other types of skin moisturizers.
  • Applying a lip balm prior to dabbing the gloss covers the cracks, if present on your lips.
  • If you want the gloss to stay long, then dust some loose powder over the first coat. Then apply the final coat of gloss on your lips.

Now that you know how to apply lip gloss, you can purchase a few good colors for yourself. Do not compromise the quality of the gloss with its price, because cheap brands are more likely to mar the natural texture of your lips. Follow the technique explained above along with the tips to get a perfect pair of sexy lips.
