Prepping
Using a good eye makeup remover, gently clean your eyelids, including the areas around your eyes; use careful one-directional strokes without roughly tugging at the skin. You'll need an eyeshadow brush, a blending brush, eyelid primer, mascara, liquid eyeliner, pencil eyeliner, smudging brush, and lastly, dark and light brown eyeshadow, including one in peach/beige (buy an eyeshadow compact that comes with complementary colors in one place, specifically for this sort of eye makeup).
Primer and Pencil Eyeliner
Cover your entire eyelids with the primer, gently dabbing the corners of your eyes too, with your middle finger. Primer helps to keep eyeshadow in place, without letting it smudge or fade during the course of the day. Then, apply pencil eyeliner to the top lash line, making sure to fill in the gaps between the lashes. Thicken it as you go along, before using the smudging brush to ever-so-slightly smear it.
Liquid Eyeliner
Using a steady hand, apply the liquid eyeliner close to the lash line, reapplying a second coat after about 15 seconds. Using the eyeshadow brush, cover the eyelids with dark eyeshadow right up till the crease over the bump, followed by the light brown one above this. With the smudging brush, blend the two colors together where they meet. Then, use the peach/beige eyeshadow, gently dabbing it over the area just below the eyebrow, along its length; this will make your eyes pop as you highlight this region.
Mascara
Lastly, apply two coats of mascara, concentrating on the roots and wiggling your way up in gentle, quick strokes. Don't wait for the first coat to dry before applying the next, or your lashes will clump. You can use an eyelash crimper to lengthen your lashes first, before applying mascara.
