L’Oreal describes this range of  lipsticks as a “revolutionary and innovative formula [that] delivers bold, luscious colour that lasts all day long, making it the ultimate beauty indulgence. Infallible Le Rouge Lipcolour offers up to 10 hours of vivid, hi-definition colour and shine, while hydrating Vitamin E keeps your lips moist and comfortable. Discover the truest colour payoff in a creamy conditioning base.”
The packaging of this product is modern and sleek, and well designed – the lid snaps tightly shut which keeps the product secure. Each lipstick comes with a shade number a matching colour sticker of the front. The top of every lipstick is a shiny red colour, but this is NOT the shade of lipstick inside. Each lipstick contains 0.09 oz or 2.5g of product, with a L’Oreal Paris engraved into the side of the lipstick product. This range has 30 different colours with varying finishes; all 4 I tried had a semi gloss finish (sheen) to them.
I had 4 shades from this line to test and try, these were:
  • Forever Fuchsia (deep fuchsia pink)
  • Perennial Pink (blue toned baby pink)
  • Infinite Spice (warm neutral brown)
  • Blazing Sangria (yellow toned red)
These lipsticks, I felt, went through different stages during its wear. Upon first application, all four shades had a similar texture in their application – smooth and creamy, with no dragging of the lips and a nice moisturising feeling. L’Oreal’s other infallible line of lipsticks were really dry, so this formula is a welcomed change –  there is no dry feeling here, and it does not settle into/accentuate dryness, cracking, or flaking of the lips.
After a period of time (for me this was about 20 -30 mins), it starts to dry down a bit and the texture becomes a little bit more tacky. Before this stage, the lipstick will transfer, but at this stage you will experience little to no transferring of the lipstick (*Tip: to eliminate the first stage, you can blot your lips on a tissue until you remove the excess). When eating, there was some transfer onto the food, but there was no noticeable change to the appearance of the lipstick after the meal as compared to before.
Towards the end of the day, this lipstick does start to go through a drying stage, in which time you may want to add a lip balm to it. After testing the 10-hour wearing claim, I did find that the lipsticks lasted the 10 hours, but 2 colours (red and fuchsia) looked better than the other 2 at the end of that time.
Some of the con’s to these lipsticks are the longevity is not consistent across the range of colours; the red and fuchsia stay longer than the baby pink and brown, because they are more vibrant pigments which leave behind a stain.  In addition, this lipstick claims to keep your lips “hydrated.. moist and comfortable”, however, I only found this to be the case in the initial stage. Although these are a bit drying, they are no where near as drying as any of the other long-wear lipsticks I have tried.
Overall, these lipsticks are a one to try if you are looking for a good long-wearing lipstick. I was genuinely impressed with the formulation, and would repurchase these again.  They aren’t overly expensive, are readily available, and have a good range of colours to try, but be aware of the finish (ones with glitter are not too flattering).
