There are a few reasons why you've got air bubbles in your nail polish―you are using an expired or thick polish, you shook the bottle before application, your nails were wet when you applied a fresh coat, you forgot to apply a clear base coat, or you applied a coat one too many. Well, what's done is done. The
important thing to do is not make the same mistakes and adopt the correct way of applying nail polish that doesn't fetch any bubbles. So, here's how to get rid of bubbles in nail polish.

Avoiding Nail Polish Bubbles

It's not just the technique, but also the brand of polish which determines the outlook of your nails. Hence, purchase nail polish depending on the quality and durability, rather than its price.

1. Before you begin, gather all the necessary tools―clear nail polish, nail polish (your choice of color), nail clipper, nail file, and nail polish thinner.
These tools are essential while doing a mani-pedi

2. Make sure your hands and feet are clean and dry. If not, dab a cotton ball in nail polish remover and wipe your nails clean. Even if there is no previous polish on your nails, this is a good habit to follow.

3. Before you apply a coat of your favorite color, applying a coat of clear base polish is necessary. The application of clear coat helps extend the life of your manicure, evens the surface by eliminating any ridges on the nails, and prevents dark colors from staining the nail beds.

Make sure the base coat and nail polish are of the same brand

4. After the base coat is dry, take the bottle and roll it between the palms of your hands. Many times, we make the mistake of shaking the bottle vigorously. Instead of mixing the color, what this does is it creates little bubbles inside. While applying the polish, you won't be able to see them immediately, but you will find them only after the polish has dried.

5. Another tip you should remember while applying nail polish is to avoid using thick polish. What happens is, if your polish is thick, it'll take the bubbles more time to surface. If you can't get a new polish immediately and have to apply a coat, add a few drops of nail polish thinner.

Avoid adding nail polish remover into the polish as it will make the polish chip off sooner

6. Roll the polish bottle with the thinner inside, and wait for some time before applying the coat. Turn the fan off and apply quick, long brush strokes of polish. If the first coat seems lighter, let the polish dry completely before applying the next coat.

After you finish applying your polish, clean the bottle with a cotton ball and secure the cap

7. Once the polish has dried properly, you can choose to apply a top coat in the end. The top coat is like a cover for your polish as it protects it from chipping off too early, giving it a beautiful shine.

Voilà! Gorgeous nails

Follow these simple rules, and you'll never have to worry about getting bubbles in your nail polish. However, even after following these steps, if you find bubbles, that means it's time to throw away the old polish.
