One of the highly popular means to enhance the beauty of one's eyes used by the modern-day woman is an eyeliner. They accentuate the natural beauty of their eyes by making various patterns on their eyes. Here are some ideas and designs which any woman can make herself at home to beautify her eyes.
Classic
For giving a classic look to the eyes, take a black liquid eyeliner
Glamorous
For adding glamor to the eyes and to look sexy, thick black eyeliner should be applied to the upper lashes. It should extend beyond the corner of the outer eyes, and end with an upward slope. Lower eye lashes should be outlined with the same or even an eye pencil. Glamorous designs using the liquid variety go very well on a romantic date or even while partying with friends.
Dramatic
For giving yourself a dramatic look, you can use an eyeliner of some bold color such as purple or green. Take the liner and make a stroke with it on the upper lashes. Start from the center of the eyelashes, instead of the inner corner of the eye as it will make the eyes appear larger. Similarly line the lower lashes, from the center too. Remember to use thick strokes to give the eyes a dramatic look. Once you are done with applying the liner, you may dust the upper lid with a gold tinted eye shadow.
Smoky
To give the eyes a smoky look, use a shade of green. Make thin lines on both upper and lower lashes with the green shade. Now, take a gray-colored eyeliner and make a thick line on both the lashes with it, in a manner that it blends with the green line. When it has dried, dust the upper eyelids with a pink eyeshadow
Goth
For a goth look, Egyptian style designs are extremely popular. Line the lashes with a thick black liner. Extend it beyond the corner of the eye, meeting at a single point just short of the hairline. Apply thick strokes on both lashes to give yourself a true goth look. If you want to make the eyes look even more dramatic, use a contrasting eye shadow such as green or pink, and dust the upper lids with it.
Additional Tips
- Always apply the liner from the inner corner of the eye to the outer corner and not vice versa.
- Apply on the upper lashes first and then move on to the lower lashes.
- An eyeliner should be applied after the foundation has been applied but before the mascara and the eye shadow.
- Lastly, if you feel that some designs did not suit you and you want to get rid of it, never use water or soap as it can make the face look very puffy and blotchy. Instead use a proper make up cleaner for the purpose.

The beauty of a woman is judged by her eyes and her heart. Eyes are the most important facial features that define the way we look. Perhaps that is why women spend extra time on doing their eyes while doing
makeup. A very important part of any eye makeup is to know how to put on eyeliner. Using this accessory is a great way to open up your eyes and achieve a sexy look. Applying it correctly is the key, because even the slightest mistake is easily noticeable. Also, remember that it is available in different types, and each of it is applied differently. The types are given below.
Types
Colors
The above types are available in different colors as well. Most of us tend to opt for black. However, makeup experts believe that it does not suit all skin tones. The color should depend on the eye color and the skin tone. For evening looks, the best colors are vibrant shades of purple, red, orange, or green.
How to Apply
It should be applied only after applying the base and the eyeshadow. Make sure you have a good mirror and lighting so that you can properly see what you are doing.
Pencil Eyeliner
Liquid Eyeliner
How To Apply on Bottom Lid
If you do not want to go in for liquid liner or the pencil, then another option is using cake eyeliner. To use this, you will have to mix them with water for application. But remember to always hold a tissue paper near the bottom lid, while applying it on the top lid. Remember that applying eyeliner will not be something you can learn overnight, but with a little bit of practice and patience, you will be able achieve it perfectly.

Applying it correctly is the key, because even the slightest mistake is easily noticeable. Also, remember that it is available in different types, and each of it is applied differently. The types are given below.
Types
- Pencil: Generally, it is preferred by beginners, as it easy to apply. It is great for a day look. For Asian eyes, this one should be preferably used, and should be applied thickly.
- Liquid: It is the best choice for an evening or formal look, as it creates a dramatic impact. Though many feel that it is not easy to apply, with a little bit of practice it works out fine. It may be slightly difficult to apply on Asian eyes, since they are very small.

- The pencil liner should be able to draw a thin, unbroken line along your skin - test it on your hand or arm first. Either sharpen it until the line is thin enough, or if it is too thin, draw a line on a tissue, which will make the tip blunt.
- You should hold it as you would hold a pencil or pen to write with, usually with your dominant hand. Use your other hand to stretch the eye you are going to line from the outer corner. You can rest the hand holding the pencil against the hand pulling your lid taut.
- Don't try to focus on your whole eyelid at one time - just look at the part you are drawing on. The line should be just above your eyelashes on the top lid and just below on the bottom, and should extend just to the outer corner of your eye.
- Be wary if the tip is quite dry, as this may pull at delicate eye tissues. Draw the line with care if this is the case.
Liquid Eyeliner
- This one comes in a bottle rather like ink, and you must use a separate brush to apply. The best result will come from a point liner brush.
- It is natural to close your eye as you draw the line, but if you keep it open, it will actually make it easier to follow the curve of your lid, and thus have a straighter line.
- You do not need trying and painting a continuous line. It is actually easier to paint a few small dashes onto the lash line, for example, inner corner, middle, and outer corner, then go back and connect them.
- If you want a thicker line than this initial thin one, build it up gradually. Start at the middle of the lash line, and draw towards the outer corner. You can extend the line slightly past the outer corner of your eyelid if you wish.
How To Apply on Bottom Lid
- Once you are done with the upper eyelid, the next step will be to apply the liner on the lower eyelid. Though there are people who use the liquid one for the bottom eyelid, the best option is to use the pencil.
- It can be applied on the eyelids or on the rim. Begin from the outer end of the eyes, and then, move closer to the nose.
- You can either cover the entire lower eyelid or just the outer two-thirds of the eye, depending on the look you want to achieve.
If you do not want to go in for liquid liner or the pencil, then another option is using cake eyeliner. To use this, you will have to mix them with water for application. But remember to always hold a tissue paper near the bottom lid, while applying it on the top lid. There are a few women amongst us who swear upon the name of an eyeliner! Well, jokes apart! All that I am trying to state here is the importance of an eyeliner in the beauty regimen of a woman. Needless to say, eyeliners are one of the most adored cosmetics of women and why shouldn't they be? Eyeliners help define the shape of one's eyes and make them look all the more attractive and glamorous. The only downside of eyeliners is that they tend to smear off sooner than our expectations. Some of them even vanish within a few moments of their application! Honestly speaking, not all eyeliners can stand moisture in the eyes and hence, they tend to smudge off the eyes, which is an absolute nightmare for anyone! All in all, it is important for us to ensure the enduringness of eyeliners, by selecting the best one that suits all kinds of eyes. Well then, what to do to find a perfect eyeliner that doesn't smudge? When you are searching for the best eyeliner, you need to concentrate on several basics of the selection. You need to evaluate the things that make your eyeliner smudge, in the first place. For example, find answers of a few questions like - 'Are you finding it difficult to find an eyeliner that stays on after a rigorous workout session?', 'Are you having a tough time getting rid of those 'raccoon eyes' when you have a brisk walk in the rain?', 'Do you want an eyeliner that stays on all day, so that you can attend an evening party right after office?' Well, you see! It is very important to determine what is the purpose and exposure level of the eyeliner, on a daily footing.
Best Waterproof Eyeliner
A waterproof eyeliner is the best when in comes to an eyeliner that doesn't smudge. Right? Well, not exactly! A simple waterproof eyeliner may surely protect the eyes from water and save you from ruining your entire eye makeup too. But, you need to make sure that it also repels the sweat and moisture which is present around the eyes. Hence, find out an eyeliner that serves this purpose of its usage. The key to do that is to look at its label, before you actually purchase it. The purpose and type of eyeliner is specifically mentioned on it.
Depending on their texture, there are four basic types of the eyeliners, which can give you a defined or a softly-smudged look. These types are - waterproof liquid eyeliner, wax-based eye pencil, powder-based eye pencil, soft-gel eyeliner and kohl eyeliner (soft powder). All these types are great but they make your choice all the more difficult.
Best Eyeliner for Your Skin Type
Well, the best way to solve this problem is to get to know your skin type. Pencil eyeliners, especially the powder based eyeliners tend to get crinkled on dry eyes. Hence, people having dry eyes must always go for the waterproof liquid eyeliners. But, it is certainly not the case with people having an oily skin, as the liquid eyeliner may drip down due to the excessive oil secretion on the eyelids. Hence, such people should try the pencil and/or the powder-based eyeliners.
For better results, you may try any one of these products - L'Oreal Wear Infinite Waterproof Eyeliner, Make Up For Ever Waterproof Eyeliner, Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner, BADgal Waterproof Black Eyeliner Pencil, Oceanic Indelible Gel Eyeliner, Maybelline Unstoppable Smudge-Proof Waterproof Eyeliner, Lorac Front of the Line PRO Waterproof Eyeliner, etc.
It is very important to make sure that you select other waterproof eye makeup products to complement the effects of the eyeliner that you have chosen! Try a waterproof 'glide on eyeliner' for the waterlines of the eyes. Now that you know what you need to do to find an eyeliner that doesn't smudge, it's time for me to give you some friendly advice! Well, as a simple way of protecting your eyeliner from getting smudged, all you need to do is apply a powdered eyeshadow of the same shade onto the eyeliner line. You don't need to draw another line of it, just dab it with the tip of the eyeshadow brush on the eyelash line! Trust me, it works!
You also need to be really careful about eye makeup removal, as it is one of the most tedious jobs. Always use a good quality eye makeup remover and never forget to use a cleanser subsequently! And this was all that I could tell you about eyeliners that don't smudge. There are simple tricks to make the eyeliner stay longer which you can learn with practice!

Eyeliner is a cosmetic that is applied around the contours of the eyes to define and highlight them. Majority of its users are females. It is said that the first users of eyeliner were Ancient Egyptians and the Mesopotamians. They used to make a dark black line around their eyes with it. There is a number of types of eyeliners available in the beauty stores, like liquid, powder-based, wax-based, and kohl. The liquid eyeliner is described as an opaque liquid that is applied around the eyes with the help of a tiny brush/applicator designed for this purpose. It usually comes in small bottles.
The powder-based eyeliner is actually a wood pencil, and it is mostly available in different dark matte shades. The wax-based variety is a soft pencil that contains wax. It is considered to be the best eyeliner by many people, as it is easier to apply in comparison with other types. Kohl eyeliner is a soft powder which is again available in dark shades with matte effect. It comes in the form of pencil, loose powder, and even pressed powder. It is mostly used to make a smudge on the eyelids.
How to Choose
If you possess a normal skin, you do not need to spend much time to find the best-suited eyeliner for yourself. Just like most cosmetics, a good quality eyeliner will suit your skin. However, if you have either dry or oily skin, you need to search well before purchasing one. For dry skin, go for wax-based or kohl-based eyeliner, as a liquid-based variety may crease on the eyelid and a pencil eyeliner may not long last. The task of selecting an eyeliner becomes tougher if you have an oily skin. This is because, most of the varieties do not suit this type of skin. The over production of oil makes the eyeliner run down to your lashes and spoil the look of your face. However, a pencil liner can satisfy you to some extent.
Nowadays, the advancements in the cosmetic industry have introduced waterproof eyeliners. These are either water-repellent or sweat resistant. They are available in different forms for different skin types. Waterproof eyeliners are the demand of present age, and no doubt the best choice for any fashion-oriented woman.
How to Apply
There is a simple way of applying any type of eyeliner. You may follow the given instructions with some variation and your level of comfort. You may not do it nicely in the first few trials, but regular and proper practice is the key. To learn how to apply an eyeliner the standard way, take a look at the following account.
Stand in front of a mirror and hold the pencil with your dominant hand. Close the eye on which you want to apply the eyeliner. Keep the other eye open, and put the pencil at the outer end of the closed eyelid. Starting from this point, draw a line towards the inner end. Try not to break it in between. A pencil eyeliner does not take time to dry, and you can open your eyes right after. If you wish, you can apply it on the lower lid in the manner same as described above.
Prepare yourself to apply the eyeliner as suggested in the above paragraph. Open the bottle of the eyeliner. The lid is provided with a soft brush. Hold the lid at the mouth of the bottle to drop the excess of the liquid. Now, put the tip of the brush at the outer end of the closed eyelid. Draw a smooth line by moving towards the inner end. If the line breaks somewhere in between, reapply the liquid to give the line a smoother look. Keep your eyelid closed for a couple of seconds to allow the drying of the liquid. Perform the given steps in the other eye.
The wax-based eyeliner can be applied more or less similarly in the way suggested in case of pencil or liquid eyeliner. You can make use of your finger or an applicator to meet the purpose.

If you go through literature, whenever an author or a poet describes the beauty of a woman, he defines her eyes. It is a well-known fact that beautiful, bright, and desirable eyes of a woman, can make any man go weak in the knees. Even though all women are not born with naturally beautiful eyes, an eyeliner can be usedto define its shape.
There are various techniques used by women, to give their eyes different kinds of looks. With a little change in the application of an eyeliner and matching eye makeup, a woman can look like a sweetheart or vamp. Here are some tips and tricks that can be used to make eyes look more appealing.
Eyeliner Tips and Tricks
Choosing the Right Color
It is very important to choose the right color that suits your eyes. If a woman has light-colored eyes, she should go for brown, charcoal, or navy. A woman with black or brown eyes should settle for plum or brown. For a soft look, pencil eyeliners can be used, and for a dramatic look, liquid eyeliner.
Liquid Eyeliner
Instead of always opting for the traditional way of applying liquid eyeliner, be creative and give your eyes a different look. Start with lining the upper lashes with a different color such as bronze, pink, or blue. The line should be thin in the inner corner of the eyes, medium-thick towards the middle, and very thick near the outer end.
After the first coat dries, take a black eyeliner and apply a thin line along the upper eyelid, very close to the lashes. It will give a very trendy and classy look to your eyes. Another simple way is to apply black eyeliner on the upper lashes the regular way, and follow it up with a shimmer pencil on right over this.
Pencil Eyeliner
A pencil eyeliner is comparatively easier to apply than a liquid one. Line the upper lashes by starting from the middle of the eye, towards the outer corner. Then, work on the inner corner and sweep the pencil towards the middle. Another way to do this, is to simply smudge it a bit after application, with a cotton swab, for a subtle and natural look.
Eyeliner Techniques for Eye Shapes
For large eyes, any styles such as classic, smoky, dramatic, or goth, can be used, since any kind suits big eyes. However, for small eyes, special attention is necessary because choosing a wrong technique can make them look even smaller. Liquid eyeliners should ideally be used for small eyes. Dark colors such as black or brown should be avoided on very small eyes. Instead, one should opt for colors like blue or plum.
Apply the eyeliner from the inner corner of the eyes, towards the outer corners, but not all the way to the end; just a little after the rim of the eye. Do not sweep it past the outer rim, as it'll make your eyes look narrower. Another way to make them look large, is to apply the eyeliner from the center of the eye, instead of the inner corner, and ending it the same way as described above.
Keep eye makeup subtle in the morning by using a pencil eyeliner, or a light shade of a liquid one. In the night, makeup can go dark, using colors like midnight blue and forest green, for gorgeous looking eyes.

Makeup malfunctions are like disasters that can strike anytime. Be it at the hottest party when you check your makeup in the mirror after strutting your stuff through the night or a hot summer day at your important meeting! You may have come in looking like a goddess but now, you realize that you look like a homeless crackhead. Makeup half washed out due to sweat can ruin your carefully picked out trendy outfit. It would be absolutely ludicrous to use a heavier quantity of your cosmetics in a bid to have additional color and prevent looking drab. Either you can opt for a no-makeup look and risk it, or learn the way to sweat-proof your makeup and never be worried about sweating again. The basic rule of make-up, "less is more", applies especially in the case of sweat-proofing your make-up. Applying heavy coats will make it difficult for the make-up to stay on your skin and it will easily glide off your skin. Using less will ensure that your make up dries of quickly on your skin and lasts longer. The brilliance lies in not loading up on makeup but in preparing your skin pre and post application to sweat-proof it.Ways to Sweat-Proof Your Makeup
Go Oil Free
Everyone knows that applying oil-based make up is not a smart idea especially if you perspire a lot. So instead, opt for a water-based or matte foundation and concealer. If you have a dry skin, which is common in most people after the twenties, moisturize your skin well with a double coat of a mild lotion. Do not weigh down your skin with a heavy moisturizer because it will clog your pores and make the skin slippery. Use a liquid eye-liner instead of an eye-pencil as it does not smudge once dry.
Try: Clinique's Stay True Makeup Oil-Free Formula and Bobbi Brown Oil-free Even Finish Foundation. LycoGel's Camouflage foundation and concealer is suitable for sensitive and fragile skin. Victoria's Secret Oil Free Cream-to-Powder foundation is priced only at $15.
It's Primer Time
A primer is a good base to use under your foundation and concealer. It helps the make-up last longer, brings out the color and reduces sheen on your face due to oiliness. Skimping on primer is essentially inviting a makeup disaster to befall upon yourself.
Tip: If you are in a rush and have run out of a good primer, try this tip. Use a baby talcum powder and lightly dust it on your T-zone with your makeup brush. Alternatively, you can also use an eyeshadow that most resembles your skin tone. Lightly dab the tip of your fingertip over it and with a feather touch motion, apply it around your eyes and other areas. This will prevent the makeup from running off and hide spots too.
Try: Bare Escentuals Prime Time Oil Control Foundation Primer at $21 and Alcone's Super Matte Antishine Kit at $28.
Killer Eyes All Through the Night
To ensure that your eye makeup lasts throughout, use a cream-to-powder eye shadow. Cream-to-powder formulas help apply the eye shadow easily, give your eyes a subtle sheen (sparkle) and stick to your skin. A cream to powder based make up is present in a cream form and transforms into fine micro particles when it gets in contact with skin. It is very light and gives the skin a natural look (finish). However, it is not suitable for oily skin as it can make it appear shinier. Or you can apply primer on your eyes before using a powder eye-shadow to avoid having your eyes look chalky. It also reinforces and peps up your eye-shadow's color. You can seal your eye-make up with light strokes of pressed powder. Use a gel or a liquid liner with a felt tip to avoid smudging for best results. Fluid gel liners are very easy to apply and stay longer than their liquid or pencil counterparts.
Try: Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion, L'Oréal Paris Double Extend Beauty Tubes Mascara at $11 and Mac fluid line at $14.50.
Soak in the Minerals
Mineral powder contains silica which helps reduce oil without causing you to break out because its particles are light weight and loose. Many foundations and concealers are now available with minerals as a vital ingredient. In fact, mineral makeup also acts as a good concealer without clogging up your pores. It makes your skin look fresh and not cakey.
Try: Bare Escentuals Mineral Veil is available at $19 in various types.
Perfect Pout
Use a more natural shade of lipstick and it should closely match your actual lip color. If the lipstick fades away after a few hours, it will not give you a ghastly appearance by having a different color on the outer line of your lips and different color in the center. However, if you need to go bright or dark, then apply a coat of primer under your lipstick for it to stay longer. After applying your lipstick, put a sheet of tissue on top of your lips and press. Apply a second coat and repeat. Take minimal quantity of translucent powder on your brush and light tap on top of you lips over the tissue. Don't forget to line your lips with a long-lasting lip liner. Apply a coat of lip gloss on top. If during the night you cannot touch up your lips, even out the lipstick by smudging it with your finger. I would recommend using water-proof liners.
Tip: Peachy shades with gloss over them look fresh and natural. Also, use your lipstick to stain your cheeks instead of opting for a blusher.
Try: Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye and Lip Pencils at $18 and Revlon's color stay dip line.
Blot it Away
Blotting paper is an absolute must-have in your bag. It will help you remove excess oil off your face without fading away your make-up like an ordinary tissue. Some also have powder in them so you can touch up your makeup. However, it can make oily skin look flaky so go in for a normal blotting sheet.
Tip: Sarah Jessica Parker advises the use of toilet seat covers when a blotting paper is not at hand in case of emergency. Don't have or want to use a toilet seat cover? Try the toilet roll.
Try: Clean & Clear Touch Oil-Absorbing Sheets are available only for $5. Shiseido Pureness Oil-Control Blotting Paper is already infused with powder but Sephora's Roll Up Blotting Papers are powder-free.
Fake Bare Skin
A tinted moisturizer is a smart way of keeping your skin moisturized as well as giving your complexion an even tone. It is hard to tell if someone has used a tinted moisturizer because it blends in with the skin so easily and gives a very natural look. It prevents the dry skin from getting flaky and oily skin from getting blotchy. You can even refrigerate your moisturizer as the temperature cools the skin and reduces oiliness caused from open pores.
Tip: How to make your own: Mix your foundation with equal amount of a matte water-resistant sunscreen lotion or moisturizer. You can use Biore's Shine-Control moisturizer available at $5.99.
Try: MAC tinted moisturizer
Remember to apply make-up that will stick to your skin and not fade away or wash off in sweat. Avoid using cosmetics that say comedogenic on the label. They cause break-outs and blemishes as you reapply your cosmetics and clog your pores. Rice powder is a new discovery in the cosmetics industry that, when added to cosmetics as an ingredient, can boost sun-protection, prevent blocked pores and enhance long-lasting power of your make-up. It doesn't make your skin look shiny and instead it gives a silky appearance. Rice powder is an upcoming technology in make-up predicted to soon be a trend to stay. But why wait for it to be added to you favorite cosmetics? You can grind rice into a fine powder and use it as a scrub or cleanser with water. It is especially favored for acne-prone skin. Palladio Beauty offers several rice powder imbibed products like herbal concealer, foundation, mineral powder and oil-absorbing sheets at very budget-friendly prices. Another useful product by Urban Decay, the De-Slick Mattifying Powder contains rice powder that sits light on skin and keeps it shine-free. With so many tips in your kitty, I hope you won't have another sweat and makeup run-down again.

No technique of eye makeup is complete without the use of eyeliner. It highlights the eyes, and in fact, holds the capacity to change the shape of the eye to something more desirable. Though many women prefer to use a pencil, and shy away from the use of the liquid variant, it should be known that it helps create a deeper, and more prominent look. All you require is a little patience to learn how to put it on, and there are a variety of styles you can choose from, to accentuate your makeup. To help you with this, given below are some tips, that will help in creating the dreamy eyes you have always desired.
Before you Begin
Before you begin with these tips, there are certain things you should keep in mind:
- Always cleanse your eyelids before you use eye makeup, as they tend to be oily most of the time. Follow this routine with the use of a concealer to even out the skin tone of the eyelids.
- Keep an eye makeup remover, and cotton pads handy, in case you make a mistake.
- Use the eyeshadow before you apply the eyeliner. This helps in holding the eyeliner in place, and makes it less prone to smudging.
- This process takes time and patience, and if you don't have either, avoid using it altogether.
- Check for any allergies before you use it.
- To begin with, stick to the traditional black eyeliner. Later, if you wish for more dramatic eye makeup, you can resort to brighter colors.
- After you have applied the liner, keep your eyes closed for at least 30 seconds to allow it to dry. Otherwise it can smudge very easily.
- Use waterproof varieties for best results.
You are now ready to try out the different techniques of using a liquid eyeliner.
Basic Application
These tips will help with the basic application of liquid eyeliner.
- Begin the application, by drawing a very fine line, from the center of your upper lash-line, to the outer corner of your eye.
- If you have trouble keeping your hand steady, apply it in shorter, but even strokes.
- Now draw a line from the inner corner of the eye, towards the center of the upper lash-line, and connect the two lines.
- For a thicker line, repeat the same process.
- Follow it up with the application of kohl, on the inner rim of the lower lash line. Use a black pencil, to highlight the lower lash line.
- Lastly, curl your eyelashes, apply a good coat of mascara, and you are good to go.
Cat Eye Liner
The cat eye look is wonderfully sexy as it slightly narrows your eyes, and is perfect for an evening with your girlfriends.
- Start with the basic application technique, and make a thin line with the eyeliner.
- Now, at the outer corner of your eye, where your upper and lower lash line meet, slowly flick the brush outward. For this purpose, you may use your lower lash line as a guide, and apply the liner as though you are extending your lower lash line. Direct the liner towards the end of the brow.
- Next, use your brush and connect this flick to the eyeliner on your upper lash line. You will notice the formation of an almost triangular shape.
- On your lower lash line, make a very fine line with the eyeliner, from the center of your lower lash line, to the outer corner, and connect it to the upper line.
- Use kohl on the inner rim of the lower lash line.
- Lastly, curl your eyelashes, a good coat of mascara, and the cat eye look is complete.
Glitter Liquid Eyeliner
Glitter adds some more jazz to your eye makeup, and the glamor it gives to your overall appearance is like the cherry on the icing. When you use glitter, keep the rest of your makeup toned down, so that your eyes are well played up.
- Use a subtle shade of eyeshadow, so that the eyeliner can stand out.
- First make a thin line with a black pencil. Do not use liquid for this purpose as the glitter will smear it.
- Now, as you would use your normal liquid eyeliner, apply a thin line of the glitter, over the line you made with the pencil.
- Apply just one coat, as this will help accentuate the glitter.
- Do not use glitter on your lower lash line, as it might cause slight itching due to the glitter.
- For a cat-eye effect with glitter, just follow the steps mentioned above.
- Finally, wrap up your eye makeup with the use of an eyelash curler, followed by the use of mascara.
Once you have mastered these basic tips, you can get creative and create new and funky looks, and surprise everyone with a new look for every occasion. Have fun!

Every woman pays attention to her appearance when she steps out of the house. We all want to look our best when there are several people looking at us. Women apply makeup to accentuate their facial features. One component of makeup is the "blush". Blush is used to give a pink and rosy look to the cheekbones. High cheekbones always add to the beauty of a woman. Application of blush highlights the cheekbones and gives a nice look to the face.In olden days, blushes were made up of natural fruits like strawberries and beet root. Then, a time had come, when metals like lead and mercury were used to make blushes. These metals proved to be harmful to the sensitive human skin. To avoid harm to the skin of the users, such metals were stopped from being used to make blushes. Nowadays, cosmetic manufacturing companies have become more careful in avoiding the use of substances that would prove harmful to the skin. Talcum powder and cold creams are used as base in blushes available today. These substances are not harmful to the skin in any way. Applying blush is also a makeup art. One must know how to apply blush properly so as to get that perfect look.
Cream Blush
These blushes are of creamy texture. They generally have cold cream as a base. The color is imparted to the blush using dyes that form uniform mixture with the cream base. This kind of blush was brought into the market after powder blush. It provides intense color to the cheekbones and can be applied using fingers. The blush should be applied using circular motion on the cheekbones for proper blending of the color. A cream blush gives a dewy look. It is best worn for evening makeup. Since it is made up of an oily base, it is best suitable for dry skin. Application of blush on oily skin will make the face look greasy. This blush tends to attract dirt owing to its oily nature. If you are using a foundation at the beginning, avoid using this blush. A powder blush should be your choice in that case. A cream blush gives you a nice radiating look with a shiny finish.
Powder Blush
This blush is mostly used for makeup. It is suitable for most skin types except for dry skin, as this blush adds to the dryness of the face. It goes well with oily skin as the powder base prevents the oily look on the face. It has talcum powder as its base which is dyed using suitable colors to obtain the final product. It is the most dense blush available in the market. It provides a chiseled look to the cheeks and is easy to use. It can be applied on the cheekbones using a blusher brush. If you are looking for a long-lasting color, this blush must be your choice. It is best suitable for day makeup as it is not too shiny. It gives a natural tone to the skin, and if you are looking for a natural finish with a matte look, go and pick this one from the market.
Which One is Better?
Answer to this question would be different for different skin types. Reviews suggest that cream blush is mostly liked by women with dry skin. Its oily base helps in keeping their skin moisturized. It also spreads evenly and provides a nice finish to the cheeks. A powder blush, on the other hand, is liked by women with oily skin. It provides a matte finish to their face and avoids imparting an oily look. It is easy to apply, but a cream blush blends well with the skin.
Both the blush types are good in some or the other way. It is for you to decide which form of blush will be most suitable for your skin type. For this, it is necessary to know your skin type. Once you are done with identifying your skin type, go ahead, buy the right blush for yourself and glow like never before!

Eyeliner is a cosmetic whose usage is necessary for a successful makeup. Many women use it occasionally while there are some who use it on a daily basis. If you belong to either of these two categories, you must know about different looks and styles that can be created with an eyeliner. The knowledge will definitely come to your help when you wish to look unique and become the center of attention. There are different types of eyeliners present in the market like liquid and pencil.
How to Apply Liquid Eyeliner
Blinking of eyes and sweating are two natural processes. You cannot escape them. Therefore, you need to apply a liquid eyeliner with such an expertise that it does not get spoiled by continuous blinking and sweating. Here are the necessary instructions on how to apply liquid eyeliner in such a manner that it stays longer. Apply a coat of foundation or face powder on your eyelids. You can apply the coat all over your face if you wish to. Put the eyeshadow (the color of your choice) on the eyelid as the manner you want to. Mark a line on the eyelid such that it runs along the immediate border of the eyelash root. This will help you apply the liquid eyeliner without much mess. All these steps are only to prepare your eyes for liquid eyeliner application. Perform them on both the eyes one by one.
Open the bottle of the liquid eyeliner. The lid is usually in the form of a small and thin painting brush. Hold the lid to drop the excess of the liquid. When done, put the tip of the brush at the end of the line marked on one of the eyelids. You will have to keep this particular eye closed to do the task well. Run the brush over the marked line inwards. Try not to break it in between. If you do by any chance, cover the undone part by running the brush. Make sure that the line formed on the eyelid is smooth and even. Allow it to dry for a couple of seconds. This forms the base line and completes the basic step of liquid eyeliner application. But your task does not end here. Your purpose is to define and decorate your eyes so that they appear more beautiful and attractive. Isn't it? Dip the brush into the liquid eyeliner, let it drop the excess of it, and then hold it at the tip of the base line. The aim here is to make the outer half of the line a bit thicker than the inner half. This gives a more finished and accomplished touch to the liquid eyeliner makeup.
What are Some Liquid Eyeliner Ideas
There are numerous liquid eyeliner styles possible. You can try any one to give a unique look to yourself. Some of the most commonly used liquid eyeliner styles are classic fashion, cat eye, smoky eye, funky and natural. The classic style is meant for those who wish to look simple yet elegant. It works when applied alone, without eyeshadow and mascaras. If you wish to apply these eye makeups, use the most natural shades. Take a liquid eyeliner brush, and draw a line on your eyelid starting from the outer end and moving inwards. Run the eyeliner brush once more but this time to thicken the outer half of the line. In this particular type of eyeliner application, do not apply kohl or eyeliner on the lower eyelid.
In the cat eyeliner style, you need to draw a smooth line on the upper eyelid and make it to flip upwards. Draw a line on the lower eyelid and extend it outwards and meet it up with the upper eyelid line. Smudge the eyeliner in the portion where the two lines meet. This liquid eyeliner style looks best with a dark eyeshadow. You must try your hands on it if you have small eyes and wish to give them a wider look. To create a smoky liquid eyeliner style, apply eyeshadow and draw a thin line with the liquid eyeliner on the upper eyelid. The eyeshadow and eyeliner color should complement each other. Now, blend the eyeliner line with the eyeshadow with the help of a brush. This will form a smudged and smoky look instantly.
To create a funky eyeliner style, use a bright colored eyeliner such as lime green, purple, electric blue, pink, etc. Apply a similar shade of eyeshadow. To choose the color of the eyeliner and eyeshadow, consider your skin tone and eye color. The natural liquid eyeliner style involves the usage of a neutral colored eyeliner. It emphasizes the natural contour of your eyes, and therefore is the best eyeliner style for large and beautiful eyes.
Thus, you see how you can get into an entirely different look by making slight changes in the regular method of liquid eyeliner application. Do try each one of the given liquid eyeliner styles and designs on yourself. Find out which one suits you best. Go out with that particular style and rock the world.

Perhaps the most defining feature of any woman are her eyes. And maybe that is why they always take extra time for doing their eye makeup. For any eye makeupgive the eyes the finish one seeks. However, when it comes to picking out the best one from the wide variety of beauty products available, most of us often find it challenging.
The right one is not based upon what is the best brand available or what your friends think is best for them. It should be based on the type of eyelashes you have and the requirements to enhance them. Though all this can sound overwhelming, it is actually quite easy, once you understand the basics.
Just like each of us have different skin types, we also have different types of eyelashes. Waterproof Mascara
Non-Clumping Mascara: Many of us face the problem of clumping while applying this cosmetic. If you also face the same problem then this is the right choice for you. The reason that this type does not clump is because it contains extracts from silk, making it one of the best choices. Also, the wand is generally longer, so that you can apply the same in long even strokes.
The aforementioned types are the ones that are available in the market. If you are still confused, then you can take professional help from any makeup artist or visit a branded show room. Choosing the right one would help enhance your eyes and make them look bigger and more beautiful.
