If you go through literature, whenever an author or a poet describes the beauty of a woman, he defines her eyes. It is a well-known fact that beautiful, bright, and desirable eyes of a woman, can make any man go weak in the knees. Even though all women are not born with naturally beautiful eyes, an eyeliner can be used
to define its shape.

There are various techniques used by women, to give their eyes different kinds of looks. With a little change in the application of an eyeliner and matching eye makeup, a woman can look like a sweetheart or vamp. Here are some tips and tricks that can be used to make eyes look more appealing.

Choosing the Right Color

It is very important to choose the right color that suits your eyes. If a woman has light-colored eyes, she should go for brown, charcoal, or navy. A woman with black or brown eyes should settle for plum or brown. For a soft look, pencil eyeliners can be used, and for a dramatic look, liquid eyeliner.

Liquid Eyeliner

Instead of always opting for the traditional way of applying liquid eyeliner, be creative and give your eyes a different look. Start with lining the upper lashes with a different color such as bronze, pink, or blue. The line should be thin in the inner corner of the eyes, medium-thick towards the middle, and very thick near the outer end.

After the first coat dries, take a black eyeliner and apply a thin line along the upper eyelid, very close to the lashes. It will give a very trendy and classy look to your eyes. Another simple way is to apply black eyeliner on the upper lashes the regular way, and follow it up with a shimmer pencil on right over this.

Pencil Eyeliner

A pencil eyeliner is comparatively easier to apply than a liquid one. Line the upper lashes by starting from the middle of the eye, towards the outer corner. Then, work on the inner corner and sweep the pencil towards the middle. Another way to do this, is to simply smudge it a bit after application, with a cotton swab, for a subtle and natural look.

Eyeliner Techniques for Eye Shapes

For large eyes, any styles such as classic, smoky, dramatic, or goth, can be used, since any kind suits big eyes. However, for small eyes, special attention is necessary because choosing a wrong technique can make them look even smaller. Liquid eyeliners should ideally be used for small eyes. Dark colors such as black or brown should be avoided on very small eyes. Instead, one should opt for colors like blue or plum.

Apply the eyeliner from the inner corner of the eyes, towards the outer corners, but not all the way to the end; just a little after the rim of the eye. Do not sweep it past the outer rim, as it'll make your eyes look narrower. Another way to make them look large, is to apply the eyeliner from the center of the eye, instead of the inner corner, and ending it the same way as described above.

Keep eye makeup subtle in the morning by using a pencil eyeliner, or a light shade of a liquid one. In the night, makeup can go dark, using colors like midnight blue and forest green, for gorgeous looking eyes.
