Hot New Products: June

Hello Makeup Geeks! It’s time for June’s HOT new products. Every month I give you a round-up of all the newest and hottest products released by the major cosmetics companies. I will also share a mini-review of the product to let you know what I like and dislike about it. My hope is that this will help you narrow down your shopping list and aid you in deciding which products are best for you. Enough blabbing, let’s get started on the HOT new products. :-)

NARS Duel Intensity Eye ShadowsNARS_Dual Intens Shadow_HNP

NARS will be releasing new eye shadows on July 1 of this year. There are 12 shades in a wet/dry formula that can be applied dry for a sheer wash of color or wet for more intense metallic finish. The pigmentation is great, they apply smoothly and evenly, and the packaging is sleek and well constructed. The only downside to these is the price tag, at $29.00 they are quite expensive but you’re basically getting two shadows in one.

These liners are gorgeous! Originally released as part of their Summer 2014 Bleached Neon’s Collection, these liners offer 6 bold shades to choose from. With incredible pigmentation and long wearing formula, these are a good dupe for the Urban Decay 24/7 liners. They have a creamy consistency and glide on without budging. The available shades are; Plum Persuasion, Mighty Magenta, Sapphire Sensation, Blast of Blue, Turn on the Teal and Silver Spice.

Maybelline Master Class Glistening Blush

Available in 6 shades, these come in a stick form similar to the NARS The Multiple sticks. Although smaller in size (0.25 oz. compared to NARS 0.50 oz.) these have good pigmentation and wear well but not all day. The available shades are; #10 Pinched Pink, #20 Pink Fever, #30 Coral Sheen, #40 Warm Nude, #50 Make a Mauve, #60 Plums Up. I recommend choosing a lighter shade to use as a cheek highlight.

Kelly Mineralized Skin Finish Duo in Jolly Good
With the Kelly Mineralized skin Finish Duo you get two products in one. The bronzer is a light muted golden brown with a satin finish and the highlight shade is a light pink with gold sparkle. If you have medium to dark skin this may appear too ashen so I would suggest the Sharon Skin Finish. The product was very finely milled but somewhat powdery, although it does have excellent pigmentation. Because the product is on the powdery side it can be a little difficult to get to adhere to the skin.

Kelly Lipstick in Dodgy Girl and Strip Poker
The lipsticks are by far my favorite part of both of these collections. They are creamy, smooth and the shades are incredible. I have the shades Dodgy Girl and Strip Poker, both are very unique shades that look spectacular. Dodgy Girl is a violet purple and Strip Poker is a true soft peach shade. There are 2 additional shades in Kelly’s collection, Riot House and Kelly Yum Yum each looks as stunning as the others. The only downside is the price, these are slightly higher than the normal $16.00 as these retail for $17.50.

Sharon Osbourne Duchess Eye Shadow Quad
I like how this eyeshadow quad is paired with 2 matte shades and 2 shimmers; Femme Fatale (a golden brown in a Satin finish), Embark (a dark reddish brown with a Matte finish), Sexy Eyes (a soft, warm bronze with a Pearl finish) and Sweet Eyes (a light golden nude with a Pearl finish). This eyeshadow quad comes in a simple red packaging that gives it an overall sleek and elegant appearance. It’s great for travel as the shades work very well together. The downside with most all these collections is being able to get your hands on them before they sell out.

Sharon Osbourne Patentpolish Pencil
Two of the 4 shades are repromotes, Innocent and Patentpink. These are a combination of a lipgloss and lipstick. They have a nice sheen to them and a creamy feel, but the wear time isn’t that great. I have the shade Patentpink which is a cool light pink with blue undertones. Other shades in the collection are Innocent, French Kiss and Ruby. If you were going to skip anything in the collection this would be it.

MAC Pedro Lourenco Collection

Eye Shadow Quad
The Eyeshadow Quad packaging  is extremely elegant and classic with a black finish and the name embossed in gold. This quad includes 2 matte and 2 shimmers shades and latches tightly, perfect for taking on the go. The pigmentation is excellent and the shadows are creamy, smooth and glide on evenly. They blend with ease and leave a soft effect that’s ideal for summer. The quad includes; Pink Sands (matte medium peachy/pink), All That Glitters (frosted warm peach/copper), Sable (frosted warm brown with red undertones)and Rose Cloud (medium matte warm brown). This quad is simply stunning both in packaging and in quality of the products.

Pedro Lourenco Powder Blush Duo
This is a blush duo that is divided unevenly which is odd, although it is larger than MAC’s normal blushes. The largest of the blushes is a light to medium peachy/coral with a touch of pink and a matte finish. The smaller shade is a medium to dark warm plum which is great for darker skin tones. These blushes can be used  independently or mixed for a custom color.

Pedro Lourenco Lipstick
There are 4 shades in the Pedro Lourenco Lipstick collection; Peach Beige (as the name describes a peach/beige with satin sheen), Roxo (blue based red with a satin finish), Ruby (bright medium red with slight blue undertones) and True Red (bright orange/red). These lipsticks glide on with a creamy and smooth consistency. Again, the only downside was the price.

If there is anything I would recommend from MAC’s recent collections it would be the Kelly Osbourne lipstick and the Pedro Lourenco Eye Shadow Quad, these are definitely products to check out.

Dior Addict It Lash Mascara

There are 4 shades available in this collection: black, blue, purple and pink. These mascaras were created to enhance the color of your eyes. I purchased the blue which is a true cobalt blue that looks amazing on brown eyes. The only downside is the price, but it is Dior.

MAKEUP GEEK BLUSHES
